PETALING JAYA: A total of 939 individuals were issued compound notices while 47 others were remanded for movement control order (MCO) violations on Wednesday (June 2).

792 detained for SOP violations on Tuesday (June 1)

PUTRAJAYA: Police have arrested 792 individuals for various standard operating procedure (SOP) violations. Among the offences were no social distancing (180), failure to register details when entering premises (135), not wearing face masks (170), cross border travel without permission (102), violation of movement control order (88), ferrying excessive number of passengers (88) and failure to obey orders (9). Of those arrested on June 1,781 individuals were slapped with a compound and 10 were remanded. One is out on bail. The SOP compliance task force also checked 71,549 premises on Tuesday (June 1), including supermarkets, restaurants, factories, banks, government offices and hawkers. Also checked were wet markets or pasar tani, places of worship, recreational places and sea transport terminals.
