ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2021 ) :A division bench of Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday reserved its judgment on maintainability of petitions challenging auction of former prime ministerNawaz Sharif s property in toshakhana corruption reference.
A division bench comprising Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri took up the cases against the confiscation and auction of Nawaz Sharif s property under the decision of an accountability court. The three separate petitions were filed by Mian Iqbal Barkat, Aslam Aziz and Muhammad Ashraf Malik through their counsel Qazi Misbah to IHC.

The fact that thousands of people felt personally bereft when they learnt of I.A. Rehman’s demise on Monday testifies to the breadth and depth of his influence and reach. Pakistan has lost perhaps its brightest guiding light.
One could possibly embellish that thought with the notion that the nation must bear that loss amid one of its darkest hours. But perhaps IAR, as he was fondly referred to, would not agree with that conclusion. After all, he was already almost an adult at the birth of Pakistan, and witnessed all of its tribulations over the decades. And he had an incredible knack for putting matters in perspective.

The 30th session of the Punjab Assembly has been quite different from the previous ones as lawmakers from the PTI-led treasury benches appeared to be playing the role of opposition on several issues.
Most lawmakers from the ruling parties, along with Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, were at loggerheads with their own government over its conduct.
While the political temperature of the assembly chambers was hot, the atmosphere in the lobby remained confusing.
Price hike, measures taken and planned by the government against Covid-19 and several other issues did not come into focus in detail in the assembly but in the lobby the lawmakers were seen discussing the future of Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.

The opposition benches in the Punjab Assembly grilled the government over defeat in the senate elections while several lawmakers repeatedly pointed out a lack of quorum.
The house proceedings started at 11:29 with the lapse of two and half hours under the chair of the Panel of Chairman Mian Muhammad Shafi. The panel of chairmen, however, did not stop the house proceedings. The opposition lawmakers wanted to grill the government first on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) recent defeat in the senate elections while the government’s tilt was to adopt first the agenda items of the assembly.

LAHORE: The treasury blocked the introduction of the Punjab Emergency Service (Amendment) Bill, 2021 in the Punjab Assembly when the house met here on Tuesday as the law minister argued that being a money bill it could not be moved by a private member.
PML-Q MPA Khadija Umar is the mover of the bill.
Law Minister Muhammad Basharat Raja requested Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi to pend the bill for Thursday as the government was drafting its own bill and would move it other than the Private Members Day.
