NOWSHERA: Awami National Party (ANP) central General Secretary and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) spokesman Mian Iftikhar Hussain on Sunday said Prime Minister Imran Khan did not trust the lawmakers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) which prompted his government to promulgate the presidential ordinance to hold the Senate election through open ballot.
Addressing a gathering here, he said that it was the prerogative of the Parliament to amend the Constitution. He pointed out that the PTI had disrespected the Parliament by promulgating the ordinance for holding the Senate polls through the open ballot.
ANP provincial deputy general secretary Taimur Baz Khan, Secretary Culture Dr Khadim Hussain and district head Jamal Khattak and others also addressed the gathering.

QUETTA: The Awami National Party (ANP) has warned the Balochistan government that it would launch a countrywide protest if the party’s provincial information secretary, Asad Khan Achakzai, is not recovered immediately.
Asad Achakzai has been missing since October. He was travelling from the border town of Chaman to Quetta when unidentified people reportedly kidnapped him.
Some ANP leaders and a large number of party workers staged a protest demonstration here on Friday during which they demanded immediate recovery of the ANP leader. The protesters marched on different roads of the city and later gathered at Bacha Khan Chowk where party leaders, including senior vice president Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, general secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Balochistan provincial president Asghar Khan Achakzai, engineer Zamarak Khan Piralizai and others spoke at length.
ANP demands Truth Commission to probe who imposed ‘war on terror’ on Pakistan

PESHAWAR: The Awami National Party (ANP) has demanded formation of a Truth Commission to find out as to who imposed the so-called ‘war on terror’ on Pakistan and who made sacrifices for the state while fighting against militancy.
Addressing a large public gathering at the Ring Road here on Saturday, ANP central senior vice president and former chief minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti said the ‘selectors’ must now have mercy on the nation and save Pakistan instead of saving the ‘selected’ prime minister.
“Such a government has been imposed on Pakistan that had even sold out the national flag carrier (PIA) and put the country on the verge of economic collapse,” he said while addressing the gathering to mark the death anniversaries of freedom fighter Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan aka Bacha Khan and his son Khan Abdul Wali Khan.

NOWSHERA: Awami National Party (ANP) secretary-general and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) spokesman Mian Iftikhar Hussain said on Friday the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had failed due to its flawed policies.
“The PTI government will be sent packing if justice is dispensed in the foreign funding case,” he said while speaking at a by-election campaign meeting for his party candidate for the PK-63 seat, Engineer Mian Wajahatullah Kakakhel.
The ANP senior leader said the PTI government had brought the country on the verge of collapse due to its domestic, foreign and economic policies which he said were unwise. Mian Iftikhar was critical of the PTI government for the unprecedented price spiral. “The government first increased the prices of petrol in the first month of this year and now the power tariff has been increased by 15 per cent. All these steps have made life miserable for the masses,�
