Minot Police located and arrested Kyran Johnson after receiving a tip that he was at a local night club. Police sought Johnson on outstanding warrants stemming from an assault of a clerk at a local convenience store. Johnson’s warrants were for Aggravated Assault (Class C Felony), Interference with Telephone During and Emergency Call x 2 (Both Class C Felonies), Terrorizing (Class C Felony), and Criminal Mischief (Class A Mis). Johnson was additionally arrested on failure to appear bench warrants out of Mountrail County, and Minot Municipal Court. During this apprehension, Johnson is accused of preventing arrest a class C Felony. Johnson is in custody of Ward County Jail awaiting initial appearance.

Clean-up crews were busy throughout Minot shortly after sunrise Thursday morning following a night a strong winds. Gusts exceeded 70 miles per hour for nearly three hours. This photograph was taken near Third Street and 9th Avenue Southeast.
If howling winds didn’t wake you up during the night maybe a loss of power did.
The National Weather Service reported wind gusts in excess of 70 miles per hour over a three-hour period overnight Wednesday, part of one of the strongest wind events ever experienced over western North Dakota. The strength of the wind, over a period of several hours, felled numerous trees. Many falling trees took overhead lines to the ground from nearby utility poles.

Racing down the road with lights flashing and sirens blaring, emergency vehicles are equipped to get attention.
They don’t all sound the same, though, and some sounds are particularly distinct. Emergency vehicles typically are fitted with sirens that offer a selection of tones, and while there are some differences among the sirens used by local agencies, there are similarities, too.
“It would be difficult to know what type of emergency vehicle was coming, just on the sound alone,” said Aaron Moss, master police officer with the Minot Police Department.

Initially she was reported missing. Then her lifeless body was discovered, followed by the arrest of her roommate on a charge of murder, a Class AA felony.
The victim is Alice Queirolo, 29, Minot. Minot Police received a missing persons reports from Queirolo’s family and co-workers on Monday of this week, followed at 1:06 p.m. Monday by a missing persons alert sent to media outlets asking for the assistance of the public in locating Queirolo.
The alert described Queirolo as 5’6″, 165 pounds with blue eyes and red hair. It also noted that Queirolo left home without her cell phone or vehicle and did not show up for work Monday morning.
Minot man arrested in connection to teen s overdose death
Mark A. Rodgers, 32, was arrested on warrants for murder, tampering with evidence, maintaining a property for the use, storage or sale of a controlled substance, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

MINOT, N.D. A 32-year-old Minot man has been arrested on multiple felony charges, including murder, for his alleged role in the overdose death of a 16-year-old girl at a Minot hotel this December.
Mark A. Rodgers was initially arrested Sunday evening, Dec. 20, on a negligent homicide charge, according to a news release from the Minot Police Department. The arrest came after an extensive investigation linking Rodgers to the teen s Dec. 14 death, police said.
