Once again, 20 local amateurs will leap out of their comfort zone and on to the stage as part of the Rotorua Community Hospice s major annual fundraiser. This year, Rotorua Hospice CEO Jonathon Hagger is walking the talk and participating in the event himself. I was encouraged to do it in 2020 but sadly we had to cancel the event, he said.

These have been made by the chief executive, councillor Fisher Wang and Rural Community Board chairwoman Shirley Trumper. The complaints follow Facebook posts. These type of complaints have happened in the past and, to my knowledge, not accomplished anything. Do we not live in a democracy where opposing voices are tolerated? Would it not be more prudent to simply ignore this?
