MARSHALL - Western North Carolina has an extensive history of hosting movie and television shows, as dozens of productions have used the area for filming sets.  Madison County will soon host a production this fall, as a web series will be filmed on Blannahassett Island and other areas of the town beginning in September. During its April 19 meeting, the Marshall Town Board of Aldermen approved a production company s offer for rental of the island to be used for filming, and also signed off on issuing a $35 hourly rate for MPD off-duty police officers during filming.  The identity of the production company is being kept under wraps for now.
