Bob Bishop compiled a CD of carols and readings The past year has certainly proven to be one of many challenges for everyone, and for the Rotary Club of Roding it’s been no different. All of the club’s meetings, like so many other clubs and organisations have been on Zoom since last April, but members are hoping it won’t be too long before they can return to the Queen Victoria in Theydon Bois to gather together again. Considering the challenges it has faced, the club has still had a successful year with fund raising for the many charities which are struggling due to so many events being cancelled.
For many of us this year, Christmas morning may look a little different.
The gatherings weâre used to may be a little smaller. The presents under the tree, a little fewer. And we might decide to stay home and stay safe instead of venturing out to a church service celebrating one of the most holy days in the Christian religion.

Christmas has arrived early for six local groups thanks to a recent announcement from the Asda Foundation.

Earlier this year, customers at Boston’s Asda store were invited to nominate not for profit groups in the local area that held a special place in their hearts.
The six successful group, who will all receive £300 each, are 107 Endeavour FM, Boston Women’s Aid, Restore Church , Boston Community Transport, Centrepoint Outreach, and Age UK Lincoln & South Lincolnshire.
The groups, all based in the area around the Lister Way supermarket, went out of their way to go above and beyond to make sure that nobody was on their own throughout the pandemic.
