West Pittston-based attorney Laura Dennis announced Monday night she is running for Luzerne County judge this year, making her the second candidate to officially enter the race. “I’ve practiced law for close to two and half decades in civil, criminal, family, juvenile, and orphan’s courts. I know my way around a courtroom and I know the judicial system inside and out,” Dennis said in a statement. Dennis has 23 years of experience as a lawyer, having opened her West Pittston law practice in 1998. “I’ve had the privilege of representing clients from all walks of life in all types of cases. Local students honored for fall 2020 semester

March 23, 2021 Milton resident named to Simmons dean’s list Joanna Jones of Milton earned the 2020 fall semester dean’s list at Simmons University in Boston. To qualify, students must obtain a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Local residents earn degrees from Western Governors  Western Governors University announced Jasmine Manley of Milton received a master of education degree in learning and technology. Helena Angelo of Milton received a bachelor of science degree in business concentrating in human resources management. Local students named to Emerson dean s list Emerson College announced Caitlin Hudecheck of Lewes and Kathryn Redefer of Rehoboth Beach were named to its dean s list for the fall 2020 semester. The requirement to make dean s list is a grade point average of 3.7 or higher for that semester.  Hudecheck is a stage and production management major in the class of 2021. Redefer is a journalism major in the class of 2021.
