Andhra Pradesh CM reviews preparedness to tackle cyclone Yaas ANI | Updated: May 25, 2021 17:32 IST Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh) [India], May 25 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday reviewed the preparations for Cyclone Yaas, including the need to make necessary arrangements for the safety of power plants and to ensure uninterrupted power supply to hospitals and health facilities treating COVID-19 patients. Jagan Mohan Reddy held a review meeting with district collectors of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Vishakapatnam and discussed the precautionary measures to be taken regarding the situation in the wake of Cyclone Yaas. During the review meeting held here on Tuesday, the Chief Minister directed the district collectors and officials to be on high alert and follow the updates of the meteorological department and take necessary actions accordingly. Hari Jawaharlal on Tuesday said the district administration had taken necessary measures to mitigate the impact of Cyclone Yaas on the coastal areas of the district as it would cross the coast between Bengal and Odisha. He visited Konada village of Pusapatirega mandal and verified the cyclone shelter there. He told the media that more impact was likely to be on Bhogapuram and Pusapatirega mandals as they were very near to the coast. “We anticipate heavy rains in the next couple of days in all the places. People should take necessary precautions to stay safe. We have taken steps to overcome disruption to electricity and oxygen supply in all COVID-19 hospitals due to adverse climatic conditions,” Mr. Hari Jawaharlal said.
