DGP praises police force for extending good services at polling stations
In a joint operation, the Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB), Excise and Law and Order police conducted raids across the State and seized over 30,000 liquor bottles, worth ₹14.5 lakh, being transported to villages in a bid to woo voters during the second phase of polling.
Police teams arrested nine persons in different cases and seized a tipper, one tractor, a car and three two-wheelers, used for smuggling, said SEB Commissioner Vijeet Brijlal.

VIJAYAWADA: Krishna district SP M Ravindranath Babu said that the police have taken all measures to ensure smooth conduct of second phase of panchayat elections in nine mandals of Gudivada revenue division on Saturday.
Disclosing the preparedness of police for the elections, Ravindranath Babu said that second phase of polls will be conducted in 2,008 polling stations spread across 466 locations in Gudivada, Gudlavalleru, Mudinepalli, Kalidindi, Kaikaluru, Mandavalli, Nandivada, Pedaparupudi and Pamarru mandals. Of the 466 locations, 118 are identified as sensitive and 93 as hypersensitive.

The teams intercepted a vehicle at Peddapuram village in the district and seized the liquor stocks.
In a joint operation, the Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB), Excise and the Veerulapadu police conducted a raid and seized 2,840 liquor bottles worth ₹3.24 lakh and a four-wheeler. They arrested two persons who were smuggling the stocks.

Elaborate security arrangements made at polling stations in Andhra Pradesh
All is set for the first phase of gram panchayat elections in the State. Polling will be held at 33,069 stations in 8,263 locations on Monday.
According to the police, Section 144 will be in force at the polling stations and up to 100 metres from the centres have been declared red zones. Candidates in groups should not move in red zones and campaigning should not be done near the polling centres. Rules of the State Election Commission (SEC) should be followed strictly, said officials.
Over 200 members searching for valuables, say police
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to investigate the vandalising of temples in the State sounded a high alert in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana over the movement of treasure trove gangs.
More than 200 members of the gangs, involved in similar offences (damaging of temples) in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and other States planned to search for ‘hidden treasure’ in temples, said SIT head and DIG G.V.G. Ashok Kumar.
“We were shocked to know that many treasure trove gangs are operating in A.P. and neighbouring States,” the SIT chief told
