AP CM YS Jagan Directs Officials To Strengthen COVID Helpline 104 May 11, 2021, 12:08 IST AMARAVATI: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy held a review meeting on prevailing COVID situation and vaccination and said to strengthen 104 helpline number and directed the officials to make the maximum number of mock calls to monitor its services. During the review meeting held at the camp office here on Monday, the Chief Minister said to increase the availability of beds in districts with more covid cases. He said to provide oxygen and arrange all infrastructure facilities in the hospitals. He said there should be immediate response once a call is received to 104 helpline number and bed should be allotted to the required person and added that patients who don t require hospitalisation should be sent to covid care centres.

The Chief Minister said imposing lockdown has worsened the financial situation, and people suffered a lot, and Covid should be controlled without imposing lockdown this time. He directed the officials to focus on controlling COVID 19 through focused testing. Testing the primary contacts of those who have tested positive for Covid is called focused testing. He said to prepare PHCs, Sub Centers to collect samples for testing. He said the composition of ‘positivity cases’ was 62 percent in urban areas and 38 percent in rural areas. However, the mortality rate is higher in rural areas. Deaths in positive‌ cases are higher in rural areas as they are going to the hospitals too late.

As per the government order, senior IAS officers in the state are assigned specific duties.

Senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer M.T. Krishna Babu is entrusted with the job of food and sanitation quality in Covid hospitals and Covid care centres (CCCs).
