Kensington residents stand vigil protecting 100-year-old pepper trees from being removed and last updated 2021-02-18 15:35:47-05 SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Thursday Kensington neighbors clashed with city workers tasked with cutting down three old pepper trees. They seem to have a vendetta against these Pepper Trees and theyâre going to take them down come hell or high water, Neighbor Harmon Huff said. Neighbors noticed trouble for the 110-year-old pepper trees last Friday. They stood vigil and kept the trees from being cut down. No parking signs went up Monday for Tuesday through Friday of this week, so neighbors deliberately parked their vehicles there to protect the trees.

Cherry Block Will Expand, The Taco Stand is Open

Cherry Block Craft Butcher and Kitchen, 409 Travis, will depart Bravery Chef Hall January 31 in order to open two new locations in Katy and Garden Oaks. The first, Cherry Block Craft Butcher and Market, 5305 Highway Boulevard, will open in early February. Cherry Block is a partnership between Felix Flores, owner of Falcon Lakes Farms, and chef Jess DeSham Timmons. The new shop will offer locally sourced heritage meats through Flores wholesale distribution company. The butcher shop and market will be both wholesale and retail with a dry aging room, custom bacon and seasonings and chef-prepared meals. The staff at the current Bravery Chef Hall spot have been offered positions at the Katy market until the second location opens later this summer.

Plan to plant 35,000 trees on Bromsgrove farmland | Bromsgrove Advertiser

A £1.5 MILLION appeal has been launched for an enormous expansion of an ancient Bromsgrove woodland. The Woodland Trust wants to double the size of Pepper Wood and plant an extra 35,000 trees. It’s part of the Trust’s Big Climate Fightback which aims to plant a massive 50 million trees by 2025 – a fifth of what the government’s climate experts say is needed. The charity want to buy up to 125 acres of farmland next to the 133 acres that make up Pepper Wood. The land would be used to create new woodland, and now wildlife habitats. If that happens it would be going back to its original woodland state.
