Driver killed in 2-vehicle crash in South Jersey

A Cumberland County man died of his injuries following a two-vehicle collision in Millville.
Stephen Butts, 30, of Seabrook, was driving a car south on Dumont Drive shortly before 8:30 p.m. on April 2 when the vehicle entered the intersection with Cedar Street and collided with a pickup truck traveling west on Cedar, according to Millville Police.
Butts had to be freed from his vehicle by emergency responders.
He was taken to a local hospital, then transported to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he died the following day.
A 31-year-old passenger in his car was taken to Cooper for treatment of his injuries.
Man helping clear wooded lot killed by falling tree in Millville
MILLVILLE A 37-year-old man was killed by a falling tree here Saturday afternoon on Chestnut Hill Road.
Two men were cutting down trees in a wooded lot, purchased by the man who was not injured.
Both the owner of the lot and his friend, who was the victim, were clearing trees from the property, Millville Police Chief Ronald Landry said.
While cutting the trees, a tree fell on the victim, Chief Landry said.
The man was treated at the scene and transported to Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, where he was pronounced deceased, Chief Landry said.
Drive-by Shooting in Millville Critically Injures Woman
Published reports say a woman from Millville was shot in the chest during a drive-by shooting in the city over the weekend.
NJ.com reports a 39-year-old woman was outside of her home in the 200 block of East Oak Street at around 1AM Saturday when a vehicle drove-by and opened fire. Witnesses report hearing five shots and at least one bullet stuck the woman in her chest.
The victim was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden; she was last listed in critical but stable condition. As of this point were still working on a motive, but it s not believed to be a random incident, Millville Police Capt. Ross Hoffman said to The Press of Atlantic City.
Woman shot in the chest during South Jersey drive-by

A Cumberland County woman was struck in the chest during a drive-by shooting early Saturday.
The 39-year-old victim was standing outside of her residence in the 200 block of East Oak Street in Millville shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday when she was fired on by someone in a vehicle, according to Millville Police Capt. Ross Hoffman.
A witness reported hearing about five shots.
The woman was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital, Camden, where she was listed in critical but stable condition.
While no arrests have been made and a motive has not been determined, police do not believe this was a random incident, Hoffman said.
