Downtown will be reanimated this summer with new murals, temporary art installations, and street performances, as a part of the Business Improvement District s Jumpst(ART) campaign.
The BID s goal with Jumpst(ART) is to have downtown be more lively this summer, after a dismal business year in 2020 because of COVID-19..
The myriad visual and performing arts will include things like chalk murals at Red Arrow park, a 10,000-square-foot mural at Schlitz Park, and 100 hours of street performances.
“It’s time to jump-start our economy,” Beth Weirick, CEO of the business district, said in a news release. “Our new arts and culture initiatives offer something for everyone to safely experience everything downtown has to offer this summer. Meanwhile, we’re thrilled to be able to put our local creatives back to work.”
