MPD: 2 arrested after argument, battery incident at southside business

MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee police are investigating a battery incident that happened at a business near 25th and National on the city s south side early Thursday, Feb. 25.
Officials say around 1 a.m., an employee at the business and several individuals were involved in an argument. The argument escalated when one of the individuals damaged property from the business. The employee brandished and struck the victim with a firearm.
A 24-year-old man from Milwaukee and a 17-year-old male were arrested.
Milwaukee DPW hosting 10th annual compost bin sale
The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works is hosting its 10th annual compost bin sale.
This year they are partnering with Recycling Connections, a Wisconsin-based non-profit that focuses on waste reduction, recycling and resource conservation, to host the event and provide the Home Composter. It is described as a highly-rated compost bin that is not available in stores. Each purchase will include a backyard composting book for $55 dollars, including tax. Kitchen Katcher stainless steel compost pails will also be available for sale for $20 each, including tax.
As usual, pre-orders for the compost bins and kitchen pails are being accepted through March 12, 2021.

The director of operations at Milwaukee s DPW, says plows have had a difficult time removing snow on narrow streets and areas with excessive parking. The majority of them do want something that is manageable for them, that you know is wide open. Driveways so cars are off the street. it makes things go a little smoother, said Danielle Rodriguez, director of operations for Milwaukee s DPW.
DPW suggests adding more snow plows and changing end loader routes to cul-de-sacs, dead ends and cross overs so they have more space.
Lake effect snowfall measured more than a foot by Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 16 in Kenosha, and it caused some big problems out on the roads for morning commuters.
