Honestly,
Spiral: From The Book Of Saw Soundtrack truly has nothing to do with the actual film, like at all but all the tracks still hit-hard in their own right without being impressive all the same.
Of the quartet of songs featured on the release “Down Bad” featuring London-bred songstress Millie Go Lightly, who most notably contributed to Young Thug’s
Beautiful Thugger Girls album in 2017, is the most cinematic sonically mainly because of Millie’s distorted yet angelic vocal intro to the record.
Slaughter Gang reps 21 Lil Harold, SG Tip, and Real Recognize Rico all hold their own respectively yet fail to truly deliver memorable bars on the record.
Lionsgate’s
Spiral: From The Book of Saw, starring Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson and featuring a 21 Savage-assisted soundtrack, topped the domestic box office on its opening weekend, earning $8.7 million, Deadline reports.
While the numbers aren’t close to initial projections, which hovered around $10-15 million mark for the horror film, it still finished as the sixth No. 1 opening for a
Saw film. The last one was 2017’s
Jigsaw, which opened with $16.6 million, according to Rotten Tomatoes. The latest, directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, follows a police vet and his partner as they investigate a series of murders that are similar to past serial killings.
Unlike typical artist and film score/soundtrack collaborations, 21 Savageâs meticulous approach to crafting the soundscape for this movie makes his involvement quite unique. He based all his musical and producer decisions around specific triggers from the film, which he spent significant time with prior to its release; combing through the score as a library of samples to be shaped into the music for the soundtrack, which makes this a truly authentic collaboration.  âWhen I make albums, the visuals come after the music is done. But on this movie, the visuals come first,â says the Grammy winner. âIt was different, making something based on a visual, trying to bring the visuals to life in music.â
