3 new exhibits at Panama City Center for the Arts feature local artists

PANAMA CITY The varied creations of three local artists with be featured throughout the month of March at the Panama City Center for the Arts. The Center, located at 19 E. Fourth St. in Panama City, will open three new exhibitions on Friday, March 5, focusing on solo work by artists Leah Allen, Anne Thrift and Jacob Mesick. The exhibitions will be open through March 27. No opening receptions will take place because of ongoing COVID-19 precautions. Admission to all exhibits is free. LEAH ALLEN The artwork of Leah Allen will be displayed in the Main Gallery on the Center s second floor. She and her family have deep roots in Northwest Florida, according to a release. This family history is reflected in her paintings of boats and marine life, paintings simultaneously realistic and fantastical some of which have an almost picture book quality to them.
