Alton Police Chief Marcos Pulido said that, at about 9 p.m. Friday, city police and fire departments responded to the 3200 block of Brown Street involving a pickup truck. The driver, whose name has not been released, was going east on Brown Street approaching Milton Street and failed to negotiate a turn.
The vehicle subsequently struck a tree and powerlines, Pulido said. The driver was transported to an Alton hospital and then taken by Arch air medical services to a St. Louis area hospital. The injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, Pulido said.
