12 Lafayette educators named 2021 Teacher Awards finalists View Comments Twelve Lafayette Parish teachers have been named finalists for the 2021 Teacher Awards, presented this year through a partnership between United Way of Acadiana, Lafayette Education Foundation and the Love Our Schools community initiative. About 750 teachers were nominated for the awards by their students, parents, fellow educators and members of the Lafayette community during a nomination period in April. Finalists were selected in three categories elementary school, middle school and high school and a top finalist will be chosen in each, to be announced during the virtual awards event hosted live on United Way of Acadiana s Facebook page May 18 at 6 p.m.
