The Miami-Dade Police Department, Traffic Homicide Unit, arresting a suspect in a deadly hit and run crash that left a 14 year-old bicyclist dead.
Investigators say the child was crossing Collins Avenue at the 10200 block, when he was struck by the subject vehicle traveling northbound through Bal Harbour. The driver failed to stop and render aid, instead fled the scene northbound on Collins Avenue and then westbound on 163rd Street. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported the child to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police arresting David Plazas, 26, charging him with leaving the scene of a crash involving death.

SURFSIDE, Fla. â The number of confirmed deaths in the condo collapse in Surfside, Florida, has risen to 95, according to Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.
âThrough the ongoing search and recovery efforts, our teams have recovered an additional victim. The number of confirmed deaths is now 95, 85 of these victims have been identified and 85 next-of-kin have been notified,â said the mayor.
