Mahindra had announced last year that it will implement a price hike across the entire range of SUVs in the country. This decision was taken by the company because of factors like increasing commodity prices and various other input costs. Mahindra & Mahindra has now announced that this price hike will come into effect from today i.e. 8 January 2021 and will make vehicles expensive by up to 1.9 per cent. What this means is that Mahindra SUVs in India will now get costlier by up to ₹40,000. On Friday, Mumbai based automaker Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. announced an increase in their price range for personal and commercial vehicles by 1.9%, which will result in an increase of Rs 4,500 - Rs 40,000, depending upon the model and variant.
In the case of the new Thar, price increase will be effective for all bookings done between December 1, 2020 to January 7, 2021. All fresh bookings for the new Thar, effective January 8, 2021, will be rolled out at prices as applicable on the date of delivery.
Mahindra Auto Sector sells 35,187 vehicles in December 2020

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.), a part of the USD 19.4 billion Mahindra Group, today announced that its overall auto sales (passenger vehicles+ commercial vehicles+ exports) for the month of December 2020 stood at 35,187 vehicles, compared to 39,230 in December 2019.
In the Utility Vehicles segment, Mahindra sold 16,050 vehicles in December 2020, compared to 15,225 vehicles in December 2019, registering a growth of 5%. The Passenger Vehicles segment (which includes UVs, Cars and Vans) sold 16,182 vehicles in December 2020, a growth of 3% over same period last year.
