SBP governor for working groups on taxation issues

Daily Times April 1, 2021 Governor, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Dr. Reza Baqir on Wednesday recommended the formation of working groups to address specific issues related to taxation in digital financial services, integration of government agencies with Raast system and the availability of seamless internet connectivity across Pakistan. State Bank of Pakistan organized fourth Stakeholders’ meeting on the Digital Financial Ecosystem, which was chaired by SBP Governor, Dr. Reza Baqir. The goal behind these stakeholders’ meetings is to accelerate the agenda on promoting digital financial services in Pakistan and support coordination in cross cutting issues, said SBP statement here. MAP S Platis Helps Two Clients Obtain EMIs Licenses in Cyprus

European regulatory consultant, MAP S.Platis, said it has concluded the application processes for two Electronic Money Institutions (EMIs) with the Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC) on behalf of its clients. Becoming a fully regulated e-money provider moves the applicants’ business into a new field, allowing them to improve and extend services to customers. The new status, which is fully passportable to all other EU member states, enables MAP S.Platis’ clients to issue electronic money and to carry out various related payments services across all 28 countries. Additionally, this extends to money remittance and execution of payment transactions, the ability to clear euro payments directly without the involvement of commercial banks, and the issue of IBAN accounts to their clients.
