Evergy Metro, Inc., d/b/a Evergy Missouri Metro has filed an application with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking to adjust the Demand Side Investment Mechanism (DSIM) charge on customer bills. The DSIM charge, which appears as a separate line-item on customer bills, allows Evergy Missouri Metro to recover demand-side management program costs and incentives under the Missouri Energy Efficiency Investment Act (MEEIA).
According to the application, a residential customer using 1,000 kWh (kilowatt-hours) of electricity a month will see the charge increase by approximately $0.03 a month, effective August 1, 2021.
Applications to intervene and participate in this case must be filed no later than June 21, 2021, with the Secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102, or by using the Commission’s Electronic Filing and Information System (EFIS) at www.psc.mo.gov.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has received special citations from the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) for its efforts toward improving the ease of doing business in the country.
In the Ease of Doing Business Summit held last week, the ARTA recognized the Commission as a “Doing Business Competitiveness Ranking Mover” for instituting the most number of reforms considered in the World Bank’s Doing Business 2020 Report.
The ARTA likewise cited measures adopted by the SEC toward protecting minority investors (PMI), which served as “Big Impact Indicator” and “Most Improved Indicator” of ease of doing business in the Philippines, based on World Bank’s report.

The federal government is proposing to eliminate written signatures on a number of key tax forms and to allow the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) to automatically issue electronic copies of the notice of assessment when returns are filed electronically.
These as well as other tax administration measures proposed in the federal budget tabled on Monday are meant “to improve the CRA’s ability to operate digitally, resulting in faster, more convenient and accurate service, while also enhancing security,” the government indicated.
