The Electricity Regulatory Authority says it is going to focus on easing power tariffs to small and medium enterprises by coming up with incentives for the sector, which is the largest creator of employment in the country.

The commercial consumers constitute nearly six per cent of the customer base for electricity sales, and contribute about 30 per cent of the revenue. ERA’s intervention for the SMEs could likely push this contribution further up.
