The name and opening seas0n of Electric Works’ highly-touted public market in Fort Wayne were revealed early Thursday morning.
Union Street Market a tribute to “the earliest days of the General Electric campus” is slated to open in fall 2022. 20-plus merchants, which already includes Joseph Decuis and Conjure Coffee, will be open daily and also serve as the permanent home of the Fort Wayne’s Farmers Market.
The mission of Union Street Market is to highlight “a range of regionally sourced foods and beverages in a historic setting,” and to support local farmers and producers while enhancing community wellness.
Electric Works second phase will focus on a vacant area north of the former General Electric campus.
