Leading car makers and environmental groups have branded the Victorian governmentâs plan to impose a tax on electric vehicles the worst electric vehicle policy in the world.
Volkswagen, Hyundai and Uber have joined 25 organisations, including Environment Victoria and the World Wildlife Fund, in signing a letter that says the tax will mean Victorian drivers will miss out on the most efficient and affordable electric vehicles.
Victoria is set to become the first Australian state to enforce an electric vehicles tax.
