Betty was predeceased by her parents Edward and Ethel O’Shea, brother Robert, sisters Patsy, Frances and Trixie. Many years ago, Betty and her family came to work and live amongst us in Lanesboro. A short time later they bought and opened Samantha’s Restaurant that was quickly recognised as excellent restaurant and was very successful for many years.

Man accused of urinating in Longford garda cell resulting in €170 bill Reporter:   ); A man accused of urinating in a garda cell, resulting in a cleaning bill of €170 has been handed a number of fines, with three months to pay. William Lawrence, Cloncovid, Co Cavan, appeared before Judge Seamus Hughes at Longford District Court last week where he explained that he was unable to pay the €170 because he’d been in custody for a dangerous driving incident which resulted in a garda being hospitalised with a broken wrist. “You put me on remand for three weeks and I had to pay €1,000 bail but while I was in custody my money stopped,” Mr Lawrence told Judge Hughes.
