MASSENA — Despite the impact of the pandemic, the New York Power Authority’s Smart Path Moses-Adirondack rebuild continues to roll along. During Friday’s ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Massena Intake, Power Authority President and Chief Executive Officer Gil Quiniones said the project was about one-third complete. “We’re rebuilding what we call the Moses-Adirondack line, which starts from here all the way down to the Adirondacks, about 86 miles we’re rebuilding. I’m going to be visiting that project today. Patricia Lombardi, our head of engineering and management is here with me today. We have completed a third of that project,” Mr. Quiniones said.

SANDAG board moves ahead with project labor agreement negotiations

Print The regional planning board responsible for the infrastructure needs of San Diego County voted Friday to open negotiations with local labor leaders for an agreement that would ensure construction workers on future projects are paid union wages. By a vote of 11-7, the board of directors of the San Diego Association of Governments, or SANDAG, agreed to enter into exclusive talks with the San Diego County Building and Construction Trades Council to adopt a “community benefits agreement.” If adopted later this year, the community benefits agreement could affect billions of dollars in future transportation and other projects proposed by SANDAG, the regional board representing San Diego County and its 18 cities.
