At least two people were rescued from balconies after an apartment building caught fire in north Minneapolis on Thursday night.
The Minneapolis Fire Department responded to a reported fire along Plymouth Avenue North near Irving Avenue at around 10 p.m. Crews arrived to find flames coming from the roof of the building.
Firefighters rescued at least two people from balconies and helped evacuate the building.
The fire was upgraded to a three-alarm fire but crews were able to extinguish the flames after about an hour. Firefighters said the building had a fire alarm system but did not have a sprinkler system because it wasn t required.
