Mitsubishi
Bigger – and much needed – news is the improved infotainment system. with its new 8-inch screen (up from 7 inches) now mounted closer to the driver for “improved touchscreen operability and visibility.” And, for the first time, the Eclipse Cross will be available with a built-in TomTom navigation system. More importantly, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all models. There’s also a new eight-speaker 510-watt Power Sound System on the topflight GT S-AWC version.
The undercarriage has also had a serious revision, Mitsubishi claiming a new rear crossmember stiffens up the platform; while beefier dampers and revised springing keeps the this enhanced version of the Eclipse Cross more firmly planted. Not changed is Mitsubishi’s 1.5-litre turbocharged four, boasting a modest 152 horsepower but more substantial 184 pound-feet of torque, available as low as 2,000 rpm.
