Wicked Local BOSTON – Two Wareham businesses and one in Marion have each received $75,000 COVID-19 Small Business grants. They are Dorothy Cox’s Candies Inc., and the Creative Development Child Center in Wareham, and Accel Materials Inc. in Marion. Shirley Cox said the grant’s receipt was welcome news for the candy maker that is just eight years shy of reaching 100 years in operation. The company is just coming off the holiday candy rush, and was regrouping. The company hired part-timers to help meet the orders, and currently has about 17 employees. It was down to only four to five over the summer. In the past, it’s had up to 40 employees. The company, located at 8 Kendrick Road, sells retail and wholesale, as well as filling corporate orders.
