Tracey Wigfield on Saved by the Bell, Mean Girls and Hopes for Season 2 (Exclusive)

By Stacy Lambe‍ Peacock Surprising many, the  Saved by the Bell reboot defied expectations when it premiered on Peacock over Thanksgiving. “That seems to be everyone’s feeling,” executive producer Tracey Wigfield tells ET with a laugh, adding when people first heard about it, they wanted to write it off. Instead, she was “so heartened when people gave it a chance and responded to it in such a big way.”   After its original run from 1989 to 1994, Wigfield brought the high school comedy out of its bubble and infused it with a modern sensibility that comes from her years of writing on

Saved by the Bell Reboot s Haskiri Velazquez Explains the Importance of Latinx Representation

The new Saved by the Bell reboot dropped on Peacock last month and has been praised for its humor as well as its social awareness. The show follows Daisy (Haskiri Velazquez) as she comes to Bayside High for the first time, but instead of breaking the fourth wall to hatch schemes like Zack Morris, she calls out the privileged students nonsense and pokes fun at the silly behavior that fueled the original show. The show s representation is one of its strongest features, so in a recent interview with Velazquez, ComicBook.com talked to the star about the importance of showcasing young Latinx characters.

Saved By The Bell (TV Review)

Saved By The Bell (TV Review) November 18, 2020 by: Plot: When California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many underfunded high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the most well-funded schools in the state – including Bayside High. The influx of new students gives the privileged Bayside kids (who never have a problem that can t be solved in twenty-two minutes) a much-needed dose of reality.  Review: If you were a teenager in the mid-1990s, odds are you have a history with Saved By The Bell. Broadcast on Saturday mornings, Saved By The Bell is a relic of a different era and maintained a wholesome if formulaic charm thanks to the roles played by Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Dustin Diamond, Lark Voorhies, Dennis Haskins, Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, Elizabeth Berkley, and Mario Lopez. And because everything old must be resurrected in this era of streaming TV, Peacock has brought the series back with many of the original cast reprising the

Saved by the Bell Reboot s Mitchell Hoog Reveals Story Changes Were Made After Pandemic Shutdown

The Saved by the Bell reboot is finally here and ComicBook.com has been chatting with some of Bayside High s newest students. We recently spoke with Dexter Darden (Devante Young) who revealed he wants to be in Michael B. Jordan s Static Shock movie. Another Saved by the Bell star we had the chance to talk to was Mitchell Hoog who plays Zack and Kelly s son, Mac Morris. In the reboot s final episode, Mac checks his phone and confusingly asks, What s coronavirus?, indicating that the series potential second season could focus on the pandemic. While speaking with Hoog, we asked if he knows if they plan to incorporate COVID-19 in season two, and how much of the first season was filmed after the pandemic shutdown.

Where to Shop the Clothes on the Saved by the Bell Reboot

Revivals aren t always successful, but the recent reboot of Saved by the Bell has been a huge hit. With nostalgic reprisals of the old cast we re talking about A.C. Slater (Mario Lopez), Jessie Spano (Elizabeth Berkley), Zack Morris (Mark-Paul Gosselaar), and Kelly Kapowski (Tiffani Thiessen) as well as fresh, new faces and socially relevant storylines, what s not to love? We re still just as distracted by the outfits as we were when we watched the original TV show, because they re really quite noteworthy. The first season starts with a class divide after the merging of kids from Douglas High and Bayside High. The series follows the ups and downs of the Douglas kids trying to fit in with new school programs as well as varying social differences. Staying true to its original 90s roots, the colorful wardrobes fit in seamlessly with today s current trends all the clothes are incredibly wearable and relevant, especially when it comes to layering and print mixing throughout.
