Pigeon Cay, which is located off the island’s south coast, has been ordered closed with immediate effect by the Government following reported breaches of the COVID-19 protocols.
The announcement was made Thursday by the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Desmond McKenzie.
It followed the recent closure of Lime and Maiden cays which are located off the coat of Kingston, after reports last weekend of yacht parties and overcrowding on the locations in breach of the Disaster Risk Management Act (DRMA).
McKenzie has advised that the closure of Pigeon Cay follows a series of incidents involving people using offshore locations for hosting parties in breach of the Disaster Risk Management Order.
