.-Mitchell-Innes & Nash is presenting its fifth solo presentation of work by Keltie Ferris. FEEEEELING features a dozen new large-scale paintings and a site-responsive wall drawing, a first for the artist. The exhibition is on view from April 16May 29.
Over the past fifteen years, Ferris has developed his exuberant and complex approach to abstract painting using a variety of methods including spray gun, dry pigment and hand-painted fields. The new paintings in FEEEEELING belong to a few distinct stylistic groups, each an evolution from Ferriss previous work.

In February last year, a group of art-dealing titans went public with an unusual proposition they would team up and sell the storied collection of the late philanthropist Donald Marron. The move was a shock to the art-world system because it saw three galleries, Gagosian, Pace, and Acquavella, snaffling up a $450 million estate that historically would have been the territory of auction houses.

A California native and graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles, Martin Kersels is a sculptor, performance artist and videographer who often uses himself as a subject in his projects, which have been exhibited around the world. His first solo exhibition took place at the Madison Art Center, the forerunner to today s Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, and Kersels will give a Facebook Live talk on his work and relationship to Madison as part of the lecture series named for retired director Stephen Fleischman.

About the Artist: Martin Kersels was born in Los Angeles, California. After he graduated with an undergraduate degree in art from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1984, he became a founding member of the collaborative performance group SHRIMPS. This group worked together on movement-based performances until 1993. Returning to U

At a time when many of us are opening our homes to outsiders through the form of gridded squares and virtual gazes, the topic takes on a renewed relevance.
