MIzzou Softball ends regular season on high note
Ask, and ye shall receive. The same day that Sam asked for the softball team to get a series win, they did just that. No. 15/16 Mizzou finishes its regular season 37-14, grabbing win 2 of 3 from No. 17/15 Tennessee in a 5-3 dogfight. Here’s a selection of the finest highlights from the program’s Twitter page.

The Tigers didn’t need it, but the win cemented them as the final top four seed. Mizzou will open SEC Tournament play on Thursday against the winner of LSU and the play-in game victor between Auburn and South Carolina.

On Thursday, it was announced that shortstop Jenna Laird, who ranks 2nd in the SEC in batting average at .433 (and leads all freshmen), was named a finalist one of 30 for the NFCA Division I Freshman of the Year. Since COVID knocked out last season, any player who was a freshman in 2020 or 2021 is eligible for the award.

Mizzou Volleyball gets it done! Starting off the 48-team NCAA Volleyball Tournament on Wednesday in Omaha, Nebraska the Tigers defeated South Dakota in a three-set sweep by the score of 25-21, 25-17, and 25-15.
Senior Kylie Deberg showed up big time, leading the team with 16 kills and 10 digs.
