A small faction of the Michigan House of Representatives, which sometimes espouses views outside the mainstream, is using its animus for responsible journalism by targeting fact checkers who help keep journalists and, more relevant in this case, politicians and public officials honest in their discourse.
The greater threat to the First Amendment’s guarantee that journalists can serve their communities by seeking and reporting the truth comes from the tribalistic approach to news and information consumption that has fueled disinformation and misinformation about elections, public policy and political debates.

Donald Trump Teases Bombshell Michigan Election Lawsuit Ahead of Case in County He Won

Donald Trump has touted a bombshell development in Michigan as he continues to falsely state he lost the election due to widespread voter fraud.
Writing on his new blog, which the former president set up after he was banned from virtually all major social media sites, Trump claimed that the major Michigan Election Fraud case will show that votes were intentionally switched from him to Joe Biden in November. The number of votes is MASSIVE and determinative. This will prove true in numerous other States. All Republicans must UNIFY and not let this happen, Trump wrote on Monday.

DONALD Trump has teased his supporters with a “bombshell” election fraud case that alleges votes for him were intentionally switched to Joe Biden.
The former president issued a statement on Monday in which he blasted the “fake news media” who he accused of failing to cover the “ greatest Election Fraud in the history of our Country.”

He claimed that a new filing in Michigan would prove that election fraud took place in other states, despite his numerous previous lawsuits being thrown out.
“The major Michigan Election Fraud case has just filed a bombshell pleading claiming votes were intentionally switched from President Trump to Joe Biden,” the statement read.

ANN ARBOR, MI Bicycles could be seen and “protect our vote!” could be heard walking through Kerrytown on Saturday afternoon.
A group of about 20 people and 15 cyclists traveled in a motorcade of voters, or “votercade,” to bring awareness about voting rights. Other cities across the country also participated on May 8 for John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Action Day.
“I strongly believe in the For the People Act, and I felt this event should happen,” said Cat Hadley, one of the organizers of the event. “In Michigan, we’re facing these voter suppression bills that may inhibit progress that the country recently made.”
