BROOKLYN, Mich. Country singer Luke Combs is paying the funeral expenses of three young men who saw him perform at a Michigan music festival before they died from accidental carbon monoxide poisoning at a nearby campground, relatives said.
“For him to reach out and do that, I don’t even have the words. I wish I could just give him a hug, said Meeka Sova, the mother of Kole Sova.
Sova, 19, William “Richie” Mays Jr., 20, and Dawson Brown, 20, were found dead in a travel trailer on July 17. Police said the friends were exposed to emissions from a portable generator that was too close to their camper. Two more young men remain in a hospital.

Two others were transported to the hospital and remain in critical condition.
This past weekend one of Michigan s biggest music festivals, Faster Horses, was held in Brooklyn at Michigan International Speedway.
Tragically, several individuals lost their lives while attending the country music festival. According to the authorities, five men in their early twenties were found unresponsive in their camper Saturday (July 17) afternoon.

Upon arrival, medics began CPR; however, three of the men were pronounced dead at the scene. The other two men were taken to the hospital to be treated for carbon monoxide poisoning. Investigators believe a generator near the camper was the cause.
In times like these, it s important for the community to come together and show one another love and support. One of our favorite country artists led by example.

GoFundMe for the men has already been set up, and has raised nearly $60,000 so far, one of the major headliners of the 3 day festival is stepping-up to do more for the families of those lost.
