FLINT, Mich. â Two attorneys have responded to news that the state plans to charge former Gov. Rick Snyder in connection to the Flint water crisis.
Brian Lennon says the charges are part of a âpolitical smear campaign.â
âThat office has refused to share information about these charges with us, which is an indication that a public relations smear campaign is a higher priority than any official legal action,â he said, referring to the Michigan Attorney Generalâs Office of Special Counsel.

Former Michigan Governor Rick Snyder and others are expected to be charged after a recent investigation of the Flint water crisis.
The Associated Press is reporting that the Michigan attorney general’s office has informed defense lawyers about indictments in Flint and to prepare for court appearances soon.
The legal team representing Snyder released the following statement Tuesday:
“We have been told by several reporters that the Michigan Attorney General’s Office of Special Counsel plans to charge former Gov. Rick Snyder with crimes related to the Flint water investigation. That office has refused to share information about these charges with us, which is an indication that a public relations smear campaign is a higher priority than any official legal action. “It is outrageous to think any criminal charges would be filed against Gov.
