Aizawl: The World Bank Board of Executive Directors has approved a USD 32 million project to improve management capacity and quality of health services in Mizoram, a world bank statement said on Thursday (April 1). The project titled Mizoram Health Systems Strengthening Project will strengthen the governance and the management structure of the Mizoram Health department and its subsidiaries, the statement said. It will improve the quality and coverage of services delivered by the state government health systems, and invest in a comprehensive quality assurance programme which would enable quality certification of health facilities, it said.

The Union health ministry in a press briefing asserted that preparations for the vaccine rollout scheduled to begin from 16 January are on track and said that all doses 1.1 crore Covishield doses being procured from the Serum Institute of India and 55 lakh doses of Covaxin from Bharat Biotech India Limited will be received by 14 January.
