The thrice-delayed Missouri Tigers finally took the field at Mizzou Softball Stadium in front of a crowd of just over 2,000 fans (including ME!) at 8:35pm Friday evening to take on the Horizon League Champion, Illinois-Chicago Flames, and the Tigers promptly extinguished them on masterful pitching by Jordan Weber and stellar hitting by a whole slew of Tigers.

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Kansas Jayhawks completed the season sweep of the Missouri Tigers with a 9-8 victory at Taylor Stadium Tuesday.
Kansas (29-24) held the lead through the majority of the game, but Missouri never backed down. With a 9-7 lead in the ninth, the Tigers tallied a run before Logan Williams caught a MU runner attempting to steal second for the final out of the game.
Steve Washilewski earned the start and pitched into the fourth before giving way to Ryan Vanderhei. Vanderhei earned the victory, pitching two-scoreless innings. Ulane earned his 10th save of the season after appearing in the eighth and pitching the ninth.

When the Kansas City Chiefs selected former Tennessee offensive lineman Trey Smith in the sixth-round, the pick was immediately labeled one of the biggest steals of the draft and rightfully so. The 2020 second-team All-American offensive guard did not possess the talent of a typical late-round pick; he was projected to be selected as early as Round 2.
Chiefs fans were and are still excited about getting a great college player at such a low-cost, but there’s two sides to that coin: Smith was not as excited to wait that long for a team’s phone call.
