The University of Maryland agreed to $3.5 million settlement with the family of Jordan McNair, the 19-year-old football player who died in June 2018 after suffering from exertional heatstroke during a team workout. The settlement is subject to approval by the Maryland Board of Public Works at its next scheduled meeting Jan. 27. This is the final step in the settlement process, and all parties, including the university and the attorney general s office, have signed off.
