The Queensland winter carnival has been rocked by drama with health officials suddenly stopping horse flights out of Victoria, stranding potentially dozens of horses including Stradbroke favourite Ayrton and two-time Group 1 winner Explosive Jack.
Racing Minister Grace Grace pledged to understand and review the direction.
“We’re looking into this at the moment, it is a bit of a change to what has happened during COVID with racing,” she said.
“We’re working with the chief health officer to ensure we get whatever ruling has been done recently so that we can find out the root of it and why it’s happening and hopefully we can solve that problem.”
