POINT, a company in the Columbus suburb of Powell, has acquired GiveGauge, a Northeast Ohio social media volunteering platform, according to a news release.
POINT operates an app that allows users to volunteer for or give to any cause.
Joe Mazur and his wife, Debbie, launched GiveGauge in April 2019 to increase awareness of local nonprofits and match people with volunteer opportunities.
Terms of the deal with POINT weren t disclosed. The deal closed Feb. 10, Mazur said in an email.
Before the pandemic struck, GiveGauge had more than 30 nonprofits, seven companies and one school district actively using the site, Mazur said. More than 1,000 volunteers had registered. While volunteers could register for free on GiveGauge, others paid an annual subscription fee.
