LEWISTOWN – The Granville Township Supervisors on Thursday sent a letter to Lewistown Borough Council regarding its feelings pertaining to the situation involving Council and the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Lewistown (MABL), which provides service to residents of Granville Township.
A copy of the letter, dated today, was submitted to The Sentinel for publication.
The text of the letter is included below and italicized:
Council Members,
Over the course of the past year, Granville Township and the other affected municipalities have been closely watching the actions undertaken by the Borough in relation to The Municipal Authority of the Borough of Lewistown (MABL). We have read, reviewed and conversed about the emails sent by Council President Shade.

LEWISTOWN – The Lewistown Borough Council did not take public action to appoint representatives to the Mifflin County Municipal Authority during its meeting Monday evening. The council ha opted not to appoint its members to the board despite having met several times since the decision to form a county authority was announced.
In November, commissioners Mark Sunderland, Rob Postal, and KEvin Kodish appointed themselves as “placeholder” board members until the borough made its own appointments. At last week’s organizational meeting of the Mifflin County Municipal Authority, the commissioners abstained from all votes that were taken, including the appointment of the board’s first officers.
