All Leitrim County Council outdoor staff will return to work by next week according the a spokesperson for the local authority.
The confirmation came after a query was raised by Cllr Felim Gurn at Monday s meeting of Manorhamilton Municipal District.
Cllr Gurn was told that, last week and this week, staff were returned to work in separate groups. However it was noted that the full complement of outdoor staff will return to work next week.
Cllr Frank Dolan asked if the period to date during which the outdoor staff were not working would have a significant impact on the completion of 2021 roads programme.
Subsidence at very dangerous bridge in Mountmellick

A commitment to repair subsidence at a ‘very dangerous’ bridge in Mountmellick was given by Laois County Council recently.
Cllr Paddy Bracken tabled a motion at the Borris-in-Ossory Mountmellick Municipal District meeting calling on the Council to address the road subsidence at Hickey’s Bridge, Mountmellick.
“It’s a very dangerous junction.we are lucky that there has been no serious accident there,” he said.
Mr Edmond Kenny, District Engineer replied: “The subsidence issue will be investigated and repaired in the coming weeks.”
Cllr Bracken welcomed the reply at the March meeting.
Very very bad Ballyfin road will have to wait for council to get cash

A road at Irey, Ballyfin which it has been claimed is in a very bad condition will have to wait for an upgrade.
Cllr Paddy Bracken raised the issue with Laois County Council recently. He tabled a motion at the Borris-in-Ossory Mountmellick Municipal District meeting calling on Laois County Council to carry out road repairs.
“It’s in a very very bad state. It needs major work,” he levelled.
Cllr Seamus McDonald backed his Fianna Fáil colleague and went further saying it is a safety risk.
Laois M8 motorway stop junction wall repair needed councillors

A motorway maintenance firm is responsible for the repair of a wall at motorway services in Ballacolla according to Laois County Council.
So councillors were told Mr Edmond Kenny, District Engineer who was responding to a motion tabled by Cllr John King at the Borris-in-Ossory Mountmellick Municipal District.
“That this Council investigates who is responsible for repairing the large opening in the wall directly in front of the entrance to Manor Stone Filling station near Ballacolla, which was damaged by a vehicle and not picked up by a camera,” said Cllr King.
A bridge built in the year the GAA was founded has a new plaque as part of repair work needed after a crash twenty years ago. The move was confirmed to Cllr Joh.
