The District Department of Transportation will be providing new information on the 9th Street NW protected bike lane project during an upcoming open house. Mayor Bowser had announced the advancement of the project in May.
The project would remove one of two northbound travel lanes from 9th Street NW between Massachusetts Avenue NW to Florida Avenue/U Street NW, in order to curb traffic congestion, increase safety, and expand bicycle infrastructure.

WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) announced Friday that construction to make Black Lives Matter Plaza a permanent installation will begin on Monday, July 19 with lane closures expected.
During construction, DDOT will close all northbound and southbound travel lanes to vehicular traffic on 16th Street NW between H Street NW and K Street NW.

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and the District Department of Transportation announced the plans Friday, reminding the public to expect lane closures.
Sixteenth Street NW between H and K Streets will be closed to through traffic while sidewalks will remain open to pedestrians and local access to businesses will be maintained, DDOT said.
