Massive fire at commercial building in Hyderabad, no casualties reported ANI | Updated: May 11, 2021 16:23 IST
Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], May 11 (ANI): A major fire broke out at a commercial building at Koti here in Hyderabad on Monday, said M Srinivas Reddy, District Fire Officer, Hyderabad, adding that no casualties were reported in the mishap.
According to Reddy, a total of seven commercial shops were gutted in the fire. Fire officers involved in the fire fighting operations said that it took them nearly about 10 hours to bring the situation under control.
Speaking to ANI over the phone, Reddy said, Everybody was evacuated from the building immediately after the fire broke out. In the building, the upper ground and the floor above are commercial space and the rest of the floors are occupied by residents. The permissions of the building to run commercial spaces are yet to be verified.

AAA A total of 2,068 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Coimbatore district on Thursday, registering the highest daily caseload reported so far.
The district had 9,845 active cases of the disease and 1,551 persons recovered.
The Health Department said that four more persons from the district died of the disease, taking the death toll to 740.
While three persons aged 42, 46 and 52 died of COVID-19 at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital on Tuesday and Wednesday, a 77-year-old man succumbed to the disease at a private hospital on Monday.
Meanwhile, S. Gunasekaran (53), station officer of Fire and Rescue Services station at Thondamuthur, died of COVID-19 on Thursday. This death was not listed in the media bulletin on Thursday.

KURNOOL: Lack of proper fire safety measures in Covid hospitals in the district poses a grave risk to patients as most of them do not have the mandatory No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the fire services and disaster management department. The hospitals which do not have NOCs include Kurnool Government General Hospital (GGH), State Covid Hospital, Nandyal District Hospital and Adoni Area Hospital.

AAA A woman worker was killed and three others sustained burns in a fire reported at Rajesh Fireworks unit under Vachchakarapatti police station near here on Thursday afternoon.
P. Adhilakshmi (22), who sustained 100% burns, succumbed to injuries at Government hospital in Sivakasi late in the night. R. Senthi (35), who suffered 90% burns, and T. Sundarapandi (40) and R. Muthumari (37), who suffered 70% burns, were referred to a private hospital in Madurai.
Fire and Rescue Services personnel, led by District Fire Officer, K. Ganesan, rushed to the spot near Sadanandapuram.
The victims were involved in packing crackers when friction triggered a huge ball of fire but there was no explosion.
