More deaths being reported in the second wave of COVID-19
More tribespersons are turning positive in the second wave of COVID-19 in Kannur and Kasaragod districts.
There is a large population of tribespersons spread across the two districts. Except for a few colonies, most of them are in close proximity to semi-urban and urban areas. The spread of the disease is being reported from colonies close to urban areas.
In the first wave of COVID-19, 11 tribespersons in Kannur and an equal number in Kasaragod died of the disease. More deaths have been reported during the second wave of the pandemic.

District Monitoring Office reviews arrangements District Monitoring Officer for COVID-19 Mohamed Nasimuddin reviewed the arrangements carried out by the district administration and the Health Department here on Sunday.
He visited the Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital (GMKMCH) and took stock of the facilities available.

Appealing to the people above 45 years to voluntarily get inoculated and help fight the covid-19 virus effectively, District Monitoring Officer and senior IAS officer Kumar V Jayanth said that the oxygen requirement for covid-19 patients in the hospitals here was sufficient, on Friday.
The officer, who was here to take stock of the ground situation on COVID19, held discussions with Collector K Senthil Raj, SP V Jeyakumar and other officers from the Health and Municipal departments. He also inspected the Government Medical College Hospital and understood about the availability of the Oxygen and among others during an interaction with the Dean and doctors.
Ninety workers and staff members of a tea garden in upper Assam's Dibrugarh district have tested positive for coronavirus, forcing the district administration to declare it a containment zone.
