ALPENA Another Presque Isle County resident has died while infected with COVID-19. The resident is the 25th resident in the county who has died after being infected since the onset of the pandemic.
Public health officials on Monday, reported that 10 Alpena County residents and two Presque Isle County residents tested positive for the virus since Friday. There were no new infections reported in Montmorency County, and District Health Department No. 2 has yet to update Alcona County’s totals.
State data showed that, as of Friday, 14,325 doses of coronavirus vaccine had been administered in Northeast Michigan.
As of Thursday, three people were hospitalized at MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena with coronavirus infection, none being in intensive care, according to state data. The hospital was 48% full.
