Vaccination of Medical, Nursing and Dental students from Jan. 25

Mysore/Mysuru: Vaccination for students of Government and Private Medical Colleges, Nursing Colleges and Dental Colleges in district is expected to begin from next week.
Already, a majority of healthcare staff have been successfully vaccinated in first round as part of nationwide vaccine drive. Those who missed vaccination in first round had been given another chance after registration of their names afresh in Cowin APP next week.
Vaccinating healthcare workers in the Government Hospitals was almost complete and it is expected to be completed in next two or three days. KOLAR/CHIKBALLAPUR: A non-clinical staff member of the district hospital was the first person in Kolar to be vaccinated with Covishield, said District Surgeon and Senior Nodal Officer Dr SG Narayanaswamy.

GIMS Superintendent, District Surgeon asked to make personal appearance
The Karnataka State Human Rights Commission has issued a notice to the Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) and ordered the District Surgeon and the Superintendent, GIMS Hospital, to make a personal appearance before the Commission on January 27.
Admitting a complaint filed by a local RTI activist Riyazuddin Khateeb regarding the death of a 16-year-old patient due to what he said medical negligence, the Commission has asked GIMS to specifically report the instance and to submit a detailed report of the case.
